WHY GTEC?
All instructors are certified in their industry craft areas and all have worked in the construction industry a minimum of ten years. They are respected members of their companies and serve as general foremen and in senior level supervisor positions. GTEC provides industry Job developers to work with students to help them transition to an employer.
GTEC has strong partnerships with maintenance and Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractors in the region. Our approach is to increase the capacity of local skilled workers who can enter the construction trades in entry level trade positions and grow their skills in a registered apprenticeship program.
WHAT WE DO!
For over 12 years, GTEC has provided a comprehensive, two-phase learning experience that prepares individuals to succeed in the construction trade industry.
We train hands-on green hands from underserved communities in Beaumont & Port Arthur & Orange and then help them start their careers in the industrial industries. They are certified in NCCER Core and OSHA10 (upon selection) as well as Motorized Equipment training and more. Historically, 70% of our graduates are placed within 2 weeks of graduation, making $17-22 an hour or more.
Our Partners benefit by getting pre-trained and vetted green hands, saving them over $12,500 per new hire and helping fill their abatements.
